Changes. Rather than gathering gold to buy the specific equipment you want, you now unlock a handful of random pieces of equipment based on how far you reach in Singleplayer mode. The purpose of this change is to encourage mixing and matching different equipment pieces, rather than immediately buying and sticking to a certain loadout. The player limit has been reduced from 16 down to 8. This is primarily due to performance reasons. A 16-player battle would begin smoothly, but as dozens of pieces of broken armor, weapons, projectiles, corpses, broken furniture, etc.
Littered the arena, framerates would drop significantly, even on higher-end machines. Performance issues aside, 16-players felt too crowded and hectic, and the slow-mo effect would become a nuisance as most collisions did not involve you.With the continuously smooth development, it looks like Floppy Heroes will come out as planned in the middle of August. A proper menu system now exists, including tabs for settings, stats, etc. Controller support has been fully implemented, and you can now play with any combination of WASD, arrow keys, and 4 controllers!. Current gamemodes include 16-player Team Mode and 8-vs-1 Titan Mode. Custom characters can be saved and loaded.
AI has been refined. Large groups of AI players will now tend to spread out to avoid crowding individual players like a flock of hungry seagulls. Character mouths are now customizable (because it was weird having 16 players with the same facial expression). Two new equipment sets (Wizard and Shaman)All in all, I've managed to get a large chunk of the technical side done this past month, and most of the remaining work looks like smooth sailing. By my current estimate, Floppy Heroes will be complete in 1 or 2 months.Thank you for the continued support!-Rimply. A Variety Of Game ModesTake on an assortment of challenges in Singleplayer Mode to earn gold and unlock new equipment, fight to the top in Tournament Mode, see how long you can last in Endurance Mode, or just have a 14 vs 2 with 10x gravity, giants, and bombs raining down in Custom Mode.As shown in the trailer, the core gameplay is essentially done. The remaining work primarily revolves around:.
